Minor Paint Correction on a 2023 BMW M440i in Sanremo Green Metallic

This 2023 BMW M440i came to my workshop at Murray Business Park, Paisley for a Minor Paint Correction. I carried out a two-stage machine polish to refine the Sanremo Green Metallic paintwork and remove light swirls and marring, then protected it with Carbon Collective Ceramic Coating.

The challenge: Sanremo Green paintwork

Sanremo Green is a rich, eye-catching colour, and the metallic flake really comes alive when the paint is in good condition. Light swirls and marring take that away, leaving the finish looking flatter and less vibrant than it should, especially in direct sunlight.

The solution: two-stage machine polish

A Minor Paint Correction suits paintwork with light to moderate defects that need more than a single polish. I used a two-stage process. The first stage is a polishing step to level out the defects, and the second is a finishing polish to maximise gloss, clarity and depth.

Protection: Carbon Collective Ceramic Coating

Once the correction was complete, I protected the paintwork with Carbon Collective Ceramic Coating. It gives the M440i:

  • A deep, glass-like gloss that shows off the Sanremo Green metallic flake
  • Long-term protection against UV rays, road grime and everyday contaminants
  • A slicker surface that is much easier to keep clean

The coating helps protect the finish I’ve just refined, so the car stays looking its best for longer.

Is a minor paint correction right for your car?

If your paintwork has light swirls or marring that a single polish won’t fully remove, a Minor Paint Correction is often the best balance of results and value. Not sure what your car needs? Get in touch and I’ll take a look and recommend the right option.

Review by James Barnes - "David was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He carried out minor paint correction and a two-stage ceramic coating, which has completely transformed the look of my car — it looks amazing! David also applied leather protection to my light-coloured interior, giving me extra peace of mind. I travelled down from Glasgow and found DMD Detailing very easy to get to. This is actually the third car I’ve had paint correction and ceramic coating carried out on by DMD Detailing, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The quality of the work and attention to detail are second to none. I would highly recommend David and DMD Detailing to anyone looking for a professional, high-quality finish."
