Paint Enhancement Detail on a 2017 Audi A1 S Line in Daytona Grey Metallic
This 2017 Audi A1 S Line came to our workshop at Murray Business Park in Paisley for a Paint Enhancement Detail. The plan was a single-stage machine polish to refine the Daytona Grey Metallic paintwork, followed by protection with Feynlab V2 Ceramic Coating.
The challenge: Daytona Grey Metallic
Daytona Grey is a great colour on the A1, but it’s very honest about the condition of the paint. In direct sunlight or under inspection lights, light swirl marks, surface marring and fine scratches show up clearly and take the depth out of the metallic finish. Over time, regular washing, road grime and general use leave paintwork looking duller than it should.
The solution: single-stage machine polish
A Paint Enhancement Detail is designed for paintwork that is in fairly good condition but has lost its clarity and gloss. Rather than a full multi-stage correction, a single-stage machine polish refines the surface, removes light swirls and marring, and restores depth and reflection without taking off more paint than necessary.
On this A1 S Line, the polish brought back the clarity of the grey metallic flake and gave the bodywork the rich, glossy finish the S Line deserves.
Protection: Feynlab V2 Ceramic Coating
Once the paint was refined, we protected it with Feynlab V2 Ceramic Coating. Polishing the paint is only half the job. Without protection, it will start collecting swirls and losing its shine again.
The coating gives this A1:
- A reflective, glass-like finish
- Long-term protection against UV damage, the elements and everyday contaminants
- A slicker surface that is easier to wash and maintain
The result is an Audi that should stay looking showroom-fresh for months to come.
