Paint Enhancement Paisley – Jaguar XK 4.2 V8

This Jaguar XK 4.2 V8, finished in a deep Sapphire Black Metallic, came into the workshop for my Paint Enhancement Detail — my entry-level correction service, well suited to a car like this where the paintwork just needed refreshing rather than a full multi-stage correction.

The paint condition on arrival had light swirl marks typical of regular driving, more visible than usual given how unforgiving black paintwork is to any imperfection.

A single-stage machine polish was used to remove the lighter defects and bring back clarity and depth to the black finish — the kind of single pass that typically achieves around a 60% reduction in swirl marks, ideal for paintwork that's already in reasonably good condition.

Once polished, the XK was protected with a ceramic coating, with 2 or 5-year protection options available depending on how the car is used and how much long-term protection is wanted.

The result: a noticeably deeper, glossier black finish with genuine added protection — a straightforward, cost-effective way to bring tired paintwork back to life without the time or cost of a heavier correction.
