This Hyundai Tucson N Line Hybrid came into the workshop in Paisley for my Paint Enhancement Detail. It received a single stage machine polish to enhance the gloss, remove light defects, and bring the Shimmering Silver paintwork back to life.
The paint condition on arrival had light swirl marks and reduced gloss typical of a daily-driven family SUV.
Why Single Stage Was the Right Choice
Paint Enhancement uses a single stage machine polish — ideal for paintwork that's in generally good condition and just needs a refresh rather than a full multi-stage correction. It's a great, cost-effective option for daily-driven vehicles like the Tucson, where the goal is restoring gloss and clarity without the time and cost of a more intensive Minor or Major Paint Correction.
The Process
- Inspection – assessing the paintwork to confirm single stage enhancement was the right fit
- Decontamination – wash/clay bar steps carried out beforehand
- Single stage machine polish – enhancing gloss and removing light defects from the Shimmering Silver paintwork
- Ceramic coating application – locking in the refreshed finish
Ceramic Coating Protection
To lock in the finish and provide long-term protection, the paintwork was treated with Carbon Collective Ceramic Coating, with a 5-year protection option applied here — giving lasting gloss, easier maintenance, and a durable barrier against everyday wear.
The alloy wheel faces were also ceramic coated, helping protect against brake dust and making them easier to keep clean.
The Result
A deep, glossy finish with added protection and easier maintenance for months ahead — the Shimmering Silver Tucson left the workshop looking sharper and better protected than when it arrived.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between single stage polish and full paint correction? A single stage polish Paint Enhancement removes light defects and restores gloss in one pass — ideal for paintwork in generally good condition. Minor or Major Paint Correction use multi-stage polishing for more significant swirl marks and scratches.
Is a single stage polish enough to remove all swirl marks? It significantly reduces light-to-moderate marring and restores gloss, but won't fully eliminate heavier defects the way a two- or three-stage correction would. I'll assess your car's paint and recommend the right level.
How long does the ceramic coating last? This job used a 5-year Carbon Collective coating option — shorter and longer protection options are also available depending on your needs.
How long does the process take? 3 to 4 days from inspection through to ceramic coating.
