Another brand new vehicle protected and ready for the road. This stunning Audi A3 Sportback in Navarra Blue Metallic came to the workshop in Paisley fresh from delivery, for my New Car Ceramic Coating Detail.


New cars leave the factory with only a thin layer of protection, and paintwork picks up marring from the transport process, dealership prep, and handling before it even reaches the owner. Getting a ceramic coating applied early — before the first proper wash or the first UK winter — means the paint is protected from day one, rather than after months of swirl marks have already built up.

Pre-Coating Preparation


Before any coating went on, the Audi went through a full decontamination wash / prep steps — confirm: clay bar, iron fallout remover, tar remover, to strip away any contamination and ensure the paint is clean and ready for machine polishing. Then the vehicle is polished to create a high gloss finish ready for the application of ceramic coating.



Paintwork Protection

The Navarra Blue Metallic paintwork was protected using Carbon Collective Ceramic Coating, applied in 2 layers for long-lasting gloss, slickness, and protection. This coating creates a hydrophobic barrier that helps repel dirt, water, and UV damage — keeping the paint looking newer for longer and making future washes faster and safer.


Wheels Off, Fully Coated

To make sure every area was properly protected — not just the visible paint — the alloy wheels were safely removed and ceramic coated both inside and out. This step is often skipped by quicker "in and out" packages, but it's one of the most worthwhile: brake dust is acidic and, left untreated, can etch into an unprotected wheel face over time. Coating the wheel barrels as well as the faces makes it far easier to keep them clean and reduces long-term wear.


Glass Protection

The exterior glass — windscreen, windows, and mirrors — was treated with a dedicated glass protection coating, improving water repellency and visibility in wet or low-light conditions. This is a small addition that makes a noticeable difference on motorway drives in the rain, as water beads and clears off the glass rather than smearing.
