This Range Rover Sport, finished in Obsidian Black Metallic, came into the workshop for my Minor Paint Correction Detail. The paint condition on arrival had light swirl marks and had dulled what should be a deep, glossy black finish.

Obsidian Black Range Rover Sport after two-stage machine polish and ceramic coating

The correction involved a heavier cutting polish to remove the deeper defects, followed by a second stage of finishing polish to bring back real depth and gloss to the Obsidian Black paintwork — the kind of two-stage approach that typically achieves around an 80% reduction in swirl marks, a solid step up from a single-stage Enhancement polish alone.

Once corrected, the paintwork was protected with a ceramic coating, with 2 or 5-year protection options available depending on how the vehicle is used. On a large SUV like the Range Rover Sport, that extra protection matters — it makes ongoing maintenance considerably easier and helps guard the finish against everyday road grime and contamination.
