Major Paint Correction on a 2018 Range Rover Autobiography SDV6 in Santorini Black
This 2018 Range Rover Autobiography SDV6 came to my workshop at Murray Business Park, Paisley for a Major Paint Correction. I carried out a multi-stage machine polish to tackle heavy swirling, scratches and years of built-up imperfections in the Santorini Black metallic paintwork, then protected it with Feynlab V2 Ceramic Coating.
The challenge: Santorini Black paintwork
Dark colours like Santorini hide nothing. Every mark and swirl is magnified under direct light, and on a car this size there is a lot of paintwork to show it off. Years of washing, road grime and general use had left heavy swirling and scratches across the bodywork, which took the depth and clarity out of the finish.
The solution: multi-stage machine polish
A Major Paint Correction is for paintwork with deeper defects that a single polish won’t fully remove. I worked through a full multi-stage machine polishing process, starting with cutting stages to remove the deep defects, then moving on to refining stages to rebuild a true, flawless reflection in the paint.
Protection: Feynlab V2 Ceramic Coating
Once the correction was complete, I protected the paintwork with Feynlab V2 Ceramic Coating. It gives the Range Rover:
- Deep gloss and a rich black reflection that locks in the results of the correction
- Long-term protection against UV damage, dirt and everyday contaminants
- A slicker surface that is easier to wash and maintain
Freshly corrected dark paint is easily marked, so the coating helps protect all that work and keeps the finish looking its best for longer. The transformation speaks for itself.
